On behalf of my client we are looking for a Children's Deputy Home Manager to join their organisation within the Leicestershire area. This is a home for up to 3 young people aged between 6 - 18 years. They provide 24-hour care for young people who would benefit from living in a family environment.
To be suitable for this position you must be aged 23 or over and hold a Full driving licence
You must be able to be on-call which includes being able to provide shift cover if required Able to work on a shift pattern which includes sleep-ins. You must have your level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent and have a minimum of 1 year of experience working at a senior level. You must have experience of supervising staff and resolving issues, and have Knowledge of the Quality Standards for children's homes and understand the legislation.
You will be required to provide and maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and cultural needs of vulnerable children and young people. Manage challenging and unacceptable behaviour and help young people gain self-control and build resilience skills.Attend to practical matters in relation to childcare (cooking, cleaning, general maintenance around the home, etc.) Devise and update young people's care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies. Provide a positive role model to be able to offer advice, guidance, and assistance where appropriate. Be able to maintain and record information and plan meetings. Empower young people and facilitate their active involvement in the decision making about their lives and future.
