Special Educational Needs and Disability SEND Caseworker
Search Consultancy Ltd is currently looking for a Special Educational Needs and Disability Caseworker to join our expanding team in the Durham area. This position is on a contract basis starting Monday 20th November for 2 months, subject to review.
Salary: £12.00 - £14.00 per hour
As a SEND Caseworker, you will be working with children and young people identifying special educational needs at the earliest opportunity and ensuring that they receive appropriate support. You will work with a wide range of schools, colleges, providers, statutory and voluntary agencies providing appropriate information, advice and guidance to parents/carers on the statutory assessment process, policies, funding and placement information.
Alongside being responsible for the conversion of statements of SEN and LDAs into EHP Plans, you will also liaise closely with the child or young person to ensure they understand the assessment process and that they have the opportunity to fully participate, either directly or via and advocate.

The ideal SEND Caseworker will:
* Have a professional qualification in Advice and Guidance at Level 6 or above, or NVQ Level 4 in Advice and Guidance or LDSS that includes the Careers Guidance Units
* Have previous experience of working with families and other professionals to meet the needs of children and young people
* Be experienced in identifying education, care or health needs of children and young people and writing outcome-based plans tailored to their needs
* Have the Ability to use ICT including Outlook and Microsoft Office
