To work with the Education Welfare Officer, Finance in all aspects of issuing Education Penalty
Notices (EPN) and collection of fines on behalf of the Education Welfare Service (EWS).
To maintain computerised and manual records of all EPN transactions ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act and Brent financial regulations.
Maintain accurate records on the Oracle Financial System and have regular communicate with Brent Financial Service Centre.
To support a team of Education Welfare Officers (EWO) to effectively issue EPNs in line with
To be responsible for managing queries from customers and schools regarding the issuing of
Education Penalty Notices and collection of fines.
To contribute to the delivery of Brent Council's corporate priorities and objectives.
To ensure that the checking, coding, processing of invoices and calculation of payments are
accurate and timely and reviewed on a regular basis.
To ensure that all relevant paperwork relating to invoicing is correct and sent out on time and
To input all payments and ensure these are in line with the stipulated criteria on Oracle.
To ensure that all financial transactions are inputted accurately and in a timely fashion.
To identify, investigate and redress any variances or financial irregularities which may arise
and alert the Education Welfare Officer for Finance.
Accurately monitor payments and non-payments of EPNs on Brent's financial accounting
system (Oracle) and take appropriate action when there is a need for amendment or
withdrawal of notices
To liaise with the Financial Service Centre in all aspects of payment and non-payment of
Education Penalty Notices, to ensure timescales are adhered to and correct action taken
To maintain a high level of record keeping using EWS systems and database in
accordance with EWS procedures, and ensure these are available to management.
To evaluate own work and participate in supervision and performance management.
To contribute to the data collection and report for Freedom of information enquiries.
To participate in training and workshops for schools, parents and other professionals;
To provide professional advice, on the issuing of Education Penalty Notices and the
collection of fines to practitioners and management within Children and Young People.
Evidence of significant experience and ability in the use of the Oracle Finance System or
similar is essential.
Evidence of relevant continuing professional development (CPD).
Knowledge of legislation relating to relevant sections of the Education Act 1996
Evidence of a High proficiency in the application of Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
Contributing to a team or group of colleagues to improve service.
Working in a diverse community and tailoring interventions to different cultural needs.
Working in an environment where safeguarding vulnerable children is paramount
