Livability is the disability charity that connects people with their communities. We tackle social isolation and the barriers that can cause this in the lives of disabled and vulnerable people.
Anvil House is a registered care home that supports a small group of adults with learning disabilities. The care home is in a peaceful residential area of Billericay, Essex, close to the town centre.
We provide services for adults with a learning disability and additional needs such as sensory impairment, and for those who sometimes express themselves through low levels of behaviour that can be challenging.
You will be required to help people live an independent life, supporting with personal care needs, participating in community activities and have an ability to work in a person centred way.
The ideal candidate will:
• Be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to connect and establish relationships
• Have knowledge of key legislation relating to health and safety in the workplace
• Have the ability to interact and identify communication and language needs, wishes and preferences
• Have the ability to recognize and reduce barriers in communication
