Integrated Therapeutic Practitioner (Fostering)

Integrated Therapeutic Practitioner (Fostering)

Birmingham, West Midlands, England

Rare opportunity for a rare candidate. Mix your fostering and counselling experience in this unique opportunity to join a leading therapeutic charity.

My client is a provider of therapeutic services that provides therapeutic care for foster carers. They are offering the right candidate a home based position to cover the west midlands.

You will have a Diploma in Counselling or Psychoanalysis to be eligible for this role with experience in fostering. Ideally you will have experience as a supervising social worker or have strong experience in providing services to children in care and their foster carers.

You will be working in partnership with supervising social workers to provide support for children in care who have suffered from a range of emotional and psychological trauma. Your aim is to take a lead on the therapeutic aspects of care for the children in place to maintain, develop and strengthen their relationships with the carers.

As well as the direct clinical work with children, your role will also be to promote therapeutic approaches to the foster carers, giving them a stronger understanding of roots of behaviour and give them the tools that will benefit the placement.

Foster carers are based throughout the Midlands, so you must have a car and license to be eligible for this role. Travel will be a requirement of the role.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Counselling or Diploma in Psychoanalysis
  • Experience working with children in foster care, or a residential setting
  • Proven track record of providing therapeutic services
  • Strong understanding of issues relating to children in foster care and their foster carers.

Please note that there have been many applications for this post and we anticipate more. If you meet the requirements of this post, please send me an email with the subject line "Integrated Therapeutic Fostering - West Midlands Application - 95337" with a couple of sentences telling me how you meet the requirements. Due to the high volume of applicants, this will be part of the selection process. Candidates who do not email this will be assumed to have not read the requirements and this paragraph.

If you would like to apply for this role or find out more, please email your CV to Kevin Kendaru at [... Click Apply...], or call [... Click Apply...].
