You will provide direct management of a team of front line Social Workers across our duty and assessment function, our Child in Need and Court teams, our Looked After Children's teams or our Children With Disabilities teams.
You will manage a team of 8 Social Workers with a range of practice knowledge from ASYE students to more experienced staff. Each team includes a Senior Social Worker who carries a 50% case load and is tasked with supporting you in managing the team.
In addition, you will be supported by a Consultant Social Worker (there is one CSW per service in each locality), who is tasked with supporting ASYEs, promoting a learning culture and supporting Social Workers with complex cases.
Key to this role will be your ability to manage safeguarding risk and quality assurance effectively, through the application of the Signs of Safety social work model (in which you will receive full training) which is being implemented across Children's Services in Manchester.
Critical to your success in this role will be your commitment to developing others to reach their full potential. You will be supported to do this through a facilitated programme designed to help you define the most appropriate culture and working methods for your team.
Key objective of the role
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure children achieve great outcomes and are safeguarded by supporting and empowering a team of qualified social work practitioners to deliver effective social work intervention.
up to £45,217 - this total is made up of a salary of up to £40,217 plus an ongoing market supplement of £5,000, which has recently been approved'
