My client is a privately owned company that provide support and care for a range of services users including adults and young people with learning disabilities, mental health issues, or acquired brain injury. At present they are expanding very quickly and as a result seeking a number of staff to join their team, including a deputy Manager to work in their supported living services in the Swindon area.
As a deputy manager, you will work a mixture of some hands on shifts, working alongside support workers and senior support worker, and some time spent in the office assisting the service manager with
in the day to day running of the services
Duties will include -
- Being a role model of support workers and senior support workers
- Writing and managing Care Plans and Risk Assessments
- Staff rota management
- Assisting with recruitment, interviews , induction and training of support workers and senior support workers
- Staff supervisions, and assisting with appraisals, and when required disciplinary procedures
- Spot checks
- Assisting with payroll if required
- Being part of the on call rota - this is shared between all deputy Mangers and Service Managers
You will need to have at least 3 years' experience working in a care environment, preferably with similar service users groups. You will have a minimum of 1 year experience of managing a staff team. . You will have a minimum of NVQ 3 or similar level qualification in care. Three are potentially progression opportunities within the organisation as the company is expanding very rapidly. If you would wish to progress to a service manager role in the future you must have or be willing to complete level 5 qualifications.
A full, clean driving license, and your own transport is essential, as you will be required to travel between services as required. When on call you would be covering services provided by the whole company, so may on occasions need to travel to the Gloucester or Bristol areas, in addition to within Swindon.
An enhanced DBS check is required for all positions (fee paid by applicant and reimbursed after six months of employment).
Salary is in the rang ep £9.16 - £10.09 hour depending on experience and qualifications
Sleep ins where required are paid at a flat rate per night
We are looking for full time staff for these roles - 40 Hours per week

Support worker roles in Cheltenham, Gloucester, Swindon and Bristol areas. Hourly rate up to £8.00 per hour for support worker roles.
