Integrated Fostering Therapist
Birmingham, West Midlands, England
My client is a provider of therapeutic services that provides therapeutic care for foster carers. They are offering the right candidate a home based position to cover the west midlands.
You will be working in partnership with supervising social workers to provide support for children in care who have suffered from a range of emotional and psychological trauma. Your aim is to take a lead on the therapeutic aspects of care for the children in place to maintain, develop and strengthen their relationships with the carers.
As well as the direct clinical work with children, your role will also be to promote therapeutic approaches to the foster carers, giving them a stronger understanding of roots of behaviour and give them the tools that will benefit the placement.
Foster carers are based throughout the Midlands, so you must have a car and license to be eligible.
- Diploma in Counselling or Diploma in Psychoanalysis
- Experience working with children in foster care, or a residential setting
- Proven track record of providing therapeutic services
