My client is a privately owned company based providing care and support for adults with adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental and physical health needs, across the West Midlands. Due to expansion, they are currently seeing to recruit support workers for their supported living services for adults with learning disabilities in the West Bromwich area of BIrmingham

As a support worker, we are looking for individuals with experience in working with individuals with learning / physical disabilities and associated complex needs. Experience within the care sector is preferable but not essential as full training can be given . If you have experience of learning disabilities through voluntary work , or for caring for a family member of someone in your social network, we would also be interested to talk to you

Main duties and responsibilities will include assessing and reviewing our service user's needs, participation in the implementation of individual support plans, being involved in the preparation of meals, laundry duties and cleaning, along with having the highest regard for the safety and welfare of our service users. You will be supporting people with everyday tasks in life to further individual's independence ( this will include personal care as required) and arranging and participating in social activities etc.

The most important skills you can bring to us are life skills - patience, commitment, initiative and understanding. This is a role that will offer a high amount of personal satisfaction.

Driving and own transport is strongly preferred. ON occasions some service users may have mobility cars which staff need to drive.
For personal care reasons for this service all applicants must be female

Hours - Full Time days shifts plus Sleep In's required..

The rate of pay is up to £7.50 per hour. Sleep ins paid at a flat rate £25.00 per night .

Patterns of work - earlies, lates and sleep ins worked on a rota basis. In many of the services the rota pattern is late / sleep / early.

For the same organisation we are also seeking support workers in the areas of Redditch , Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, Great Barr and KIngstanding
