Head of Care/ Deputy Manager required, Southend on Sea area, salary circa £27'500
On behalf of a fantastic, well regarded organisation I am looking for a Head of Care for one of their beautiful residential care homes near the Southend on Sea area...
The home is a beautiful and provides accommodation for 33 older people some of whom have dementia. The home is well staffed with Care Staff providing 24 hour care, a Head of Care/ Deputy and a Administration Manager. Rooms are on three floors accessible by passenger lifts and each has a call bell. The home is set in its own extensive grounds which have mature planting, flower beds and lawn. Indoors are several lounges offering a selection of venue for communal or private use. A full program of activities is arranged within the Home and residents are encouraged to continue their interests both within and outside the Home. Excursions and special events are arranged , often with the help of our volunteers.
My client is looking for a new Head of Care/ Deputy to assist the Home Manager with the smooth running of the home. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to managing quality and ensuring the home delivers excellent person centred care, assisting the home manager with recruitment and training of staff, providing leadership to care staff within the home, ensuring the well being of all residents at all times, manage the assessments of potential residents ensuring that the home can meet their individual needs and preferences, ensure the implementation and review of care plans, act as Home Manager in the Manager's absence.
The successful candidate..
The successful candidates will ideally have at least 2 years experience in a managerial or leadership role within a care home. You will need to hold the NVQ 3 as a minimum and ideally hold or be willing to work towards NVQ 4 or equivalent and have a good understanding of the needs of older people and those affected by Dementia. You will need to be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of care homes and CQC, be highly organised, smartly presented, a good people manager and passionate about delivering high quality, person centred care.
