    Location – Macclesfield

    Aprox £32,000 per annum plus benefits

    Join an energetic, progressive and one of the most innovative providers of young people’s residential care in the UK, helping to provide the highest level of care by the use of the best resources available.

    Working as part of a close-knit team within one of our small group residential homes, you will manage the staff in providing everyday and personal care, education and support of young people with a learning disability.

    As Registered Manager – Learning Disabilities you will need:

    • Proven experience in a managerial or senior role in a residential setting working directly with children and young people who have a learning disability

    • Good ability to communicate, think and act quickly in the event of an incident and wit your team generally.

    • A broad knowledge of Autistic Spectrum Disorders and other related conditions

    • At least one year’s experience managing or supervising in a care environment

    • Within the last 5 years, at least 2 years working in a position relevant to the residential care of children

    • To ensure that high standards of care and social work are maintained and the best possible outcomes for each child and young person are promoted

    We are looking for motivated, driven and committed individuals, with a calm approach. You must be able to lead your staff to work as a team and to high standards. Excellent management, interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

    The Registered Manager – Learning Disabilities will:

    • Hold Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent

    • Hold QCF or NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care in Caring for Children and Young People or:

    • NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People’s workforce

    • Fulfil the role of the Registered Manager as defined within the Care Standards Act (this may include travel within the UK)

    • Protect children and young people from risks to their health, welfare and normal development, both inside and outside the home

    • Ensure the home environment is appropriate and sensitive to the needs of the children and young people being looked after and is compliant with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and National Minimum Standards for Children’s Homes

    • Must hold a full clean driving license (UK or acceptable in UK)

    • Must be over the age of 21 (Employer has claimed an exemption under the Equality Act 2010)

    • Be required to provide an enhanced disclosure and satisfactory references. Disclosure expense will be met by employer
