Assistant Team Manager | Access and Asssessment | Reading

If you are an Assistant Team Manager who lives locally to Reading and you have recent or significant management experience within a statutory Children's Access and Assessment (a.k.a. First Contact, Referral and Assessment, Duty and Assessment, etc.) then this is an ideal role for you.
My client, Reading Borough Council, require a new team member to assist with the management of their Access and Assessment Team based in Reading Town Centre.
The Access and Assessment team receives all new referrals for children's services that have been passed through by the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). The service is made up of a large, diverse and vibrant team of social workers and social work assistants. Social workers undertake child protection enquiries and child in need assessments, and undertake work as part of the duty rota. Work may also include children looked after, emergency court work and section 7 reports. Should children require on-going social work support cases are transferred at Initial Child Protection Conference, or first lac meeting or following completion of the single assessment.
The ideal applicant will have at least 5 years post qualified experience, 2 years post qualified experience including recent and/or significant experience at Assistant Team Manager level working in a similar statutory team.
This is a full time position for 37 hours per week and the initial contract will run for 6 months.
Rate of pay will be in line with regional agreements. You can expect a pay rate of £38 per hour.
