My client is looking for a Team Leader for their organisation within the Burnley area. You will need your Level 3 Diploma (QCF) for the Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent and Commitment to obtain (if not held) a management qualification relevant to Residential Child Care. You must have a Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children/young people in a residential setting.

Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young people in my clients care. Promote the delivery of a safe, structured and nurturing environment and immediately report any unsafe practices, conditions or concerns. Assist in the implementation of care and placement plans, taking into account the views of the young person. Contribute to placement planning, participate in reviews and other meetings and write and edit report when required. Ensure the delivery of all key worker responsibilities including the delivery of direct work. Ensure ongoing assessment of children and young people’s needs in day to day practice, and be able to evidence achievements using outcomes measuring tools where appropriate. Promote young people’s participation, to ensure young people are actively involved in the environment and day to day activities of the home. Relate to and engage young people who display challenging behaviour and utilise a variety of behaviour management strategies.

Assist young people to identify unsafe, dangerous, harmful and abusive situations, individuals and groups. Provide a caring and supportive environment for children and young people that respects and affirms their racial, cultural and religious identity and lifestyle. Ensure the rights and needs of children and young people are met as fully as possible whether spiritual, physical, intellectual, cultural or social. Ensure an open culture is created so that children and young people feel they can complain and that they are listened to.
