Find out more about care worker jobs

A care worker is someone employed to provide support in the community. A care worker may work peripatetically or within a care home. Forming part of a care team the care worker will work alongside nurses, social workers, healthcare assistants, care home managers and other community care staff.

Formal qualifications are not essential. But care workers may seek to increase their understanding and skills through vocational courses, NVQ or on-site training.

Care worker jobs also form a useful function for those who wish to gain vital experience in social care before deciding to train for more specialist roles such as community nursing jobs, social worker jobs or even support workers jobs.

Care workers will provide essential, hands-on care and support to people with learning disabilities, specific physical care disorders or mental health issues. In this respect care worker jobs also offer training nurses and social workers a superb opportunity to ‘earn while they learn’ through part time work while they study.

Care worker jobs provide a lot of opportunity in a wide range of age groups to choose from. Are you interested in caring for children? Perhaps you lean toward the elderly. Or, if you are gratified in assisting people of any age, there are plenty of great care worker jobs for you to choose from.

What Care Worker Jobs Require
After some basic training, employees will commonly be matched with a person in need of daily assistance, such as personal grooming, meals and daily household duties. Your loving services will be invaluable to a child or adult who is physically disabled or suffers from a disease or illness that incapacitates them either physically or mentally.

If you’re a compassionate individual, as well as an outgoing person, bonding with your client will come quickly and easily. No doubt, your client is looking forward to getting to know you and develop a friendship with you that will make your work rewarding and gratifying. Since you’ll be working very closely with the individual, you’ll find a bonding that will cause the best to come out in you. It takes a special person to be a caregiver.

If that special person is you, find the job you’re searching for from among many care worker jobs that will fit you and help to provide the loving care to someone in need. There’s someone waiting for you!

Salary for this job can range from £7 - £9 per hour or, depending on the job and your experience, can go up to £11 per hour.
