About Care Manager jobs
Care manager jobs often require candidates to have a degree and / or other qualifications. Care managers work in a variety of settings (day care centres, hospitals, care homes) and effect a programme of care for patients, the elderly, people with physical or learning disabilities or people overcoming trauma. Usually trained in a specific field, care managers will understand and have access to services in the local community, and be able to cost and action a care plan and discuss it with clients and their families, as well as other staff members and colleagues.
Care managers also use their experience to take decisions about community care programmes, be responsible for QCC audits, or, when in a care home ensure quality of residential care, recruit nursing or care staff, interview social workers, ensure elderly clients at a residential home are safe during a day-trip, check that health and safety procedures within a care home is followed.... Care managing is an extremely full and often demanding job.
